An intimate dining experience

Situated off a side street in the coastal village of Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme, Baie serves a Scandinavian-inspired cuisine that spotlights locally sourced ingredients and natural wines. This intimate “table d’hôtes” is owned and operated by Marie and Etienne, who left Paris to open a restaurant that reflects their passion for gastronomy. Etienne, who runs the kitchen, enjoys elevating his ingredients with freshly picked herbs and creative cooking techniques: fish poached in a flavorful broth, for example, or meat smoked in beechwood shavings. As for Marie, she is happy to serve tasting pours of her selection of wines or to explain the origin of each carefully sourced ingredient. With a twenty-person capacity per service, “our restaurant is small, and our menu is short,” she explains. “We can take our time with each client.”
