A coffeeshop with a local specialty
In a sunny square a block from the port of La Ciotat in southeastern France, Des Côtés Café offers a selection of specialty teas and coffee, seasonal small plates, natural wines, and vegan pastries, all in a cozy, convivial atmosphere. After starting her career as a human resource professional, Lisa Sanchez opened this little slice of paradise in 2017 to share her love for quality products. The coffeeshop offers a short, seasonal menu, steeped in the values of local, sustainable cooking. Every ingredient is scrupulously selected by the chef for its quality and sustainability: fresh fruits and vegetables harvested daily by local permaculturalists, honey collected in the nearby Calanques, and farmhouse ricotta, to name but a few. In 2020, Sanchez expanded her operations to a small greengrocery adjacent to the coffeehouse, allowing her customers to take home some of the quality products that they enjoy in house: Mokxa coffee, tea from One Thousand Plants and Very Thes, and fresh pressed juices.
