An ode to eating well
Angèle, the namesake of Les Guinguettes d’Angèle, has an infectious laugh and a positive energy that radiates. She gets her “guinguette” spirit from her two grandmothers, who both ran one of these rustic, open-air establishments where folks would come to eat, dance, and live it up. From her childhood, she also inherited a close connection to nature and local food cultures. “When I was young,” she remembers, “I spent a lot of time in the south [of France], running around with hens in the kitchen garden. My family handed down their love for home cooking and their picky taste for quality ingredients.” Initiated to the alternative medical practice of “ayurveda” at the age of 15 and subsequently certified as a naturopath, Angèle quite naturally followed the path towards wholesome cooking. In her two Parisian take-away establishments, Angèle’s menu always features gluten-free dishes and at least one vegan option: a roasted fennel salad on a sesame cream base with a twist of lemon, for example, or a sweet potato pecan brownie. With Angèle’s naturopathic knowledge and culinary finesse, you count on a nutritious meal with an added bonus of good-humored hospitality!
