Eco-friendly food for the whole family
As with many ideas, it all started with a simple problem: Séverine Haïat and Elizabeth Conter couldn’t find a suitable spot to take their kids for lunch. After working for ten years in the film industry, the friends took over the kitchen at Les 400 Coups, the on-site restaurant of the Cinématèque française. This kid-friendly spot combines Haïat and Conter’s two passions: eco-friendly cooking and French cinema. The cozy restaurant is adapted to the Cinémathèque’s diverse clientele, with daily specials, cheese and charcuterie boards, and weekend brunches at accessible prices. Haïat and Conter make a conscious effort to reduce waste by cooking with seasonal ingredients and using compostable tableware for takeaway orders. And to encourage customers to come with their own containers, Haïat and Conter have come up with an idea that is sure to appeal to their customers’ inner child: a free piece of chocolate for each packaging-free takeaway order.
