Much more than a bouldering gym
It might come as a surprise that a bouldering gym built inside a converted car garage contains one of the most unmissable restaurants in Montreuil, just east of Paris. And yet this multipurpose space is the stomping ground of climbing enthusiasts and eco-friendly foodies alike. The success of the Arkose concept can be attributed not only to its laid-back ambiance, but also to ethical standards that this hybrid establishment has adopted across the board. On the restaurant side of things, waste reduction rules: food scarps are reused or composed rather than thrown away, and the drink menu was overhauled to eliminate plastic entirely. Even the furniture on the restaurant terrasse is made from recycled wood pallets and cork.
