Extra virgin greek food
Télémaque Argyriou was working in a bank in London when he decided to trade in his office life to open a food truck serving traditional Greek cuisine to his former banking colleagues. With Kalimera, “I wanted to show another side of Greece,” he says, “besides the financial crisis and greasy, fried food.” Instead, Télémaque’s food truck began serving “business friendly” Greek food that wouldn’t make working customers feel like napping all afternoon. Founded in the City of London in 2015, the food truck recently found a new home in Paris. Now located inside the Ground Control complex—a former railway depot turned arts-and-food hub—Kalimera has quickly earned a reputation for its signature Greek specialties made high-quality Greek products, including Télémaque’s parents’ olive oil. Mindful of his environmental impact, Télémaque opts for local options where possible, adapts his recipes according to the seasons, and has done away with plastic takeaway containers to limit waste.
