Good food for all
Long before the streets of Paris were buzzing with bicycle and scooter deliveries, Les Marmites Volantes was already in the saddle. Since 2012, this environmentallyand socially committed restaurant has sought to promote sustainability through food, by making quality cooking accessible to all. Under the leadership of its three co-founders, who like to call themselves “bouffesquetaires,” or food-fighters, Les MarmitesVolantes has risen to meet these challenges—so successfully, in fact, that the restaurant opened a second location in Montreuil in 2015. At noon every weekday, the two kitchens serve seasonal dishes, made from unprocessed, organic ingredients sourced locally from a select few producers. Made from fresh market produce, the dishes are designed to be accessible in every way: to all budgets, to all diets, and to all of Paris. Entrées range from 10–12€, the menu features both meat and vegetarian options, and a scooter delivery service is available for orders for four or more people. Beyond the plate, Les Marmites Volantes is also committed to composting food scraps with the help of a local support organization, recycling used cookware and serving containers, andreducing waste by banning plastic bottles from the restaurant premises.
