A creative neighborhood cafe
Located on the northern slope of Montmartre, Cocotte et Tire-Bouchon is a neighborhood café that merits the title, serving affordable, inventive plates alongside a sophisticated selection of reasonably priced natural wines. In the kitchen, chef Anne Leplumey is behind the “cocotte” side of the business, coming up with original, seasonal recipes incorporatingas many organic, unprocessed ingredients as possible. Behind the bar, owner Cyril Laroche takes care of the “tire-bouchon” side of things, uncorking natural wines sourced exclusively from winegrowers whose natural practices he can attest to personally. A resident of the neighborhood, Laroche is all about keeping his business as local as possible, making connections with local artisans and catering to his neighbors. It is lovely to find this kind of community connection in a city with more than two million inhabitants!
